Proenza Schouler: Pre-fall 2010 collection

I will be the first to say I am not a fan of the Proenza Schouler line. Even though I'm not a fan, I do take a peek to see what they are up to every season. There is so much hype surrounding these guys. For their Pre-fall 2010 collection, they seem to have relaxed a bit with their look. And what is given is a fun, young, collegiate, boyish vibe. Real, wearable clothes, that I could see real girls actaully wearing and wanting in their closet. This "look" has been done a million times in fashion, but I felt they've given it a fresh point of view. Making me curious to see the full out Fall 2010 collection, that will be presented at New York Fashion Week in mere weeks.

Givenchy Muse Alert: Ciara

I've written blog post about Ciara before. I think she is a fly chic. But was never really a fan before her last album, Fantasy Ride. Which did horribly on the charts. Even though there were some amazing songs. But I believe that she has finally found herself and her personal style. When she started out, she was a seventeen year old girl from ATL, singing about her "goodies".

This week Ciara, jetted off to Paris, to sit front row, alongside Amber & Kanye, at the Givenchy's Spring 2010 couture show, designed by Riccardo Tisci. Riccardo's first couture collection for Givenchy. A few months ago Ciara declared, via twitter, that she was the new Muse for Tisci. A very bold claim to make. The collection started 40 minute late, due to a tardy Ciara, and was met with Boo's from photographers. I'm positive this incident was planned, well before she even received an invite to the show. She then changed her outfit, and hit the after-party. Maybe she is a muse. Who knew?

*A new album from Ciara is due later this year, with help from producers The Dream and Darkchild.

How do you say "Ferosh" in Espanol?

Jennifer Lopez can do no Wrong in my eye. She is proably the flyest beyotch doing it right now. Here we have photos from the launch of longtime makeup artist, Scott Barne's new book "About Face". Here she wears a Louis Vuitton dress and Louboutin shoes. Jennifer Lopez hosted the event, as well as appears on the cover of the book (and wrote the foreword). Wurk mama!!.....and just because: the cover of Jennifer Lopez's new single Louboutins. Her new album: Love? is due in April, as well as her new upboming film: the Backup Plan. Talk about a comeback!

Chloe Spring 2010 ad campaign

Here we have a few images from the Spring 2010 ad campaign for Chloe. It features two of my favorite supermodels: Raquel Zimmerman and Malgosia Bela, shot by Mario Sorrenti. I love these ads very much. There is a creamy clean simplicity with these images. The tan and the soft blues together with a brown leather bag. One of my favorite color combinations. I also really appreaciate the tough twill fabrics used for some of the clothing. Enjoy!

Iceberg Spring 2010 ad campaign

The Spring 2010 campaign for Iceberg has been revealed. Shot by amazing photographers, Mert Alas & Marcus Pigott, and features supermodel Carolyn Murphy. Beautuful. My only issue is how similar this campaign looks to Roberto Cavalli's Fall 2007 campaign featuring Kate Moss, also shot by Mert & Marcus. Take a look and compare for yourself. I'm all for an artist to have a consistant aestetic. But two similar ad campaigns, for two different designers is just a bit of a turn off for me. The hair, the makeup, even the tree. And here is the Fall 2007 Roberto Cavalli ads with Kate Moss
you be the judge!

Male Supermodel/Actor Jon Kortajarena

Male Supermodel Jon Kortajarena has spent several seasons posing for Tom Ford's ad campaigns. The Basque native, has just recently landed his first acting part in the debut film, A Single Man, directed by....none other than Tom Ford, Starring Colin Firth. He is without a doubt my pick for male fashion model of the Millenium.
